“BEETHOVEN X – THE AI PROJECT” CONCERT AT THE GERMAN PAVILION

LIVE STREAM FROM PHILHARMONIC HALL IN HAMBURG OF BEETHOVEN’S 10TH SYMPHONY COMPLETED BY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Today, “Beethoven X – The AI Project” will be performed by the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn in the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The concert will be streamed live at the German Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. What’s special: Beethoven’s incomplete 10th symphony was completed by Artificial Intelligence. As part of the Classic Mondays at CAMPUS GERMANY, the livestream can be watched on the Cultural Stage in the Auditorium of the German Pavilion. The overall responsibility for Germany’s presence at the Expo lies with the country’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, which has commissioned Koelnmesse to organise and run the project.

For the first time after its premiere in Boon, “Beethoven X – The AI Project” will be performed tonight and make the unimaginable possible. Shortly before his death, Beethoven began composing his 10th Symphony, yet it remained incomplete. In 2019, Telekom assembled an international team of experts led by Dr Matthias Röder to develop an AI to complete Beethoven’s work. The 10th Symphony celebrated its premiere on 9 October 2021 at the Telekom Forum in Bonn. Now, the result will be presented for the second time at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg by the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn under the direction of General Music Director Dirk Kaftan. In the context of Classic Mondays, which take part every Monday in the German Pavilion, the concert will be streamed live on the Cultural Stage at CAMPUS GERMANY.

“We are more than happy to bring a rousing yet exciting event to the Culture Lab together with Telekom and a world-class soloists Gabriela Montero, Opus Classic Prize winner Simon Höfele, and a star organist Cameron Carpenter”, says Mike P. Heisel, Curator of the cultural programme of the German Pavilion. The evening will be hosted by Sarah Willis, much-acclaimed horn player of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and TV presenter. The performance is presented by Telekom Street Gigs. Link to the stream: https://www.magenta-musik-360.de/street-gigs/beethoven-10-sinfonie-elphi
