Today saw the unveiling of CAMPUS GERMANY – Germany’s pavilion at the 2020 World Expo, to be held in Dubai, where the unveiling ceremony took place. The German Pavilion will focus on sustainability. The CAMPUS concept will transform the pavilion into a place of knowledge, research and interpersonal communication – in line with the EXPO 2020 Dubai theme, “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.
The German concept proved popular with the audience, including Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, Executive Director, Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau. Speaking at today’s press conference in Dubai, he said,
“At Expo 2020 Dubai, we want all our visitors to contribute to making the world a better place, and the German Pavilion will provide a fascinating platform for people to learn, have fun and explore sustainability together.”
The iconographic architecture borrows from the idea of a campus, presenting the German Pavilion as a light, transparent ensemble of buildings with an open, green atrium at the centre – a vertical campus.
As CAMPUS GERMANY, the pavilion will communicate with its visitors on a personal level, as equals.
It will be an entertaining, surprising, hands-on and digital showcase of German innovations and solutions in the field of sustainability. The exhilarating show at the end of the tour will again illustrate that, together, we can solve the challenges facing us by making intelligent use of economic and technical creativity – if we pool our resources.
