In our latest Instagram Live video, Manuel Salchli, Commissioner General of the Swiss Pavilion, and Sebastian Rosito, Deputy Commissioner General and Director of the German Pavilion, had a talk about the cultural programmes at both pavilions. We learned about how the Swiss Pavilion intends to break with clichés about folklore and alphorns by presenting acrobatic acts from Switzerland. The German Pavilion will focus on newcomers and give them a stage at its Culture Lab.
“Cultural understanding is also a big topic to cooperate cross culturally with other countries. So, if you know the culture of your partner it helps to tighten the relationship with your partners at the end of the day.” - Sebastian Rosito, Deputy Commissioner General and Director of the German Pavilion
“Absolutely! And I think the two of us, together with Austria, we have talked about also exchanging culture. Maybe some German group will perform at the Swiss Pavilion, and some Austrian group will come to Germany and we send someone to Austria. Between the German speaking countries, that could quite be something.” - Manuel Salchli, Commissioner General of the Swiss Pavilion
Both pavilions will host a cultural programme with a variety of acts from fields such as dance, music, gaming etc. Watch the exhibition talk here and find out more about the events hosted in both pavilions on the website of the Swiss Pavilion and the German Pavilion.
